1 Year Anniversary and Valentine's Day
My husband is a Christian rap artist. He also writes other gospel music that he gets people to perform. On Monday, February 4, 2013, he had a gig at an open mic night. I was not ready to go. So when he called and asked me if I was ready, I suggested that I not go. He then said I had to go, which, as you know, got my woman senses tingling. I figured that since it was so close to Valentine's Day, and our one year anniversary, he would probably dedicate a song to me or some such.
With this in mind, I dressed up for the gig. When he came home, I more or less had the kids ready to go and then we went to the event. We got there really early, so we sat around and talked and hung out with our friends who were there. Then it was time for my husband to perform.
He went on stage and performed a poem/song that he had written for Black History Month, since February is also Black History Month. Then he gave an introduction saying, "Since this is the month of love, I dedicate this next song to my love." ME!
He then began rapping a song, I had never heard before, dedicated to me. He even went as far as to pull me out of me seat (I was recording the event; maybe I will share it with you some time.), and brought me on stage so that he could serenade me in public. (I will admit, I was very nervous and self conscious.)
He then surprised me with a bouquet of flowers they were keeping in the back!
This is not really him presenting me with the flowers. We are posing for a picture. |
HAPPY VALENTINE'S Day! |
