To shot, or not to shot? That is the question.
As a mom, as a parent really, I want to do what is best for my children. Society tells us that giving our children shots is the best thing for them to prevent diseases. Society believes this so much that we are required to give our children shots if we want them to attend public schools. The anarchist in me says this is because the man wants to control us like sheep and is giving us diseases in the form of shots. But the mother in me says, "Since the masses attend public schools, instead of everyone contracting a disease, why don't we inoculate them against it so we all remain as healthy as possible."
It makes sense; but then so does the other argument if you watch or read the news. The truth is, I don't know what is best. With my first child I gave her all the shots believing it was best; now at the age of 10 she has diabetes and I am told this could be because of the shots. My middle child has always had a problem with shots. They give him high fevers and he bleeds when he gets them. I don't remember my daughter bleeding, but then why else do they put the band aids on their legs?
A part of me says God made our bodies perfect just the way they are. But then I remember that we were all born in a corrupted world after the fall of man, even the earth has turned against us. Disease is rampant because of our sin. A shot won't make us righteous, but can it keep us healthy? I don't know. I don't like to see my baby in bed with a fever because of some shot, not unless this shot can save his life and give him a better life.
Did the shots cause my daughter to get diabetes or is it the poor quality of food we eat? I have more questions than answers, but one thing I know, God hears my prayers. So I pray that this fever will go down quickly and stay gone, I pray that my daughter will be healed from diabetes. I pray that whether or not my children get shots God will keep them healthy and well. I pray the same for your children if you are reading this. Lord, I ask for your guidance, show me Your will in this area. To shot or not to shot?
